Our Story

Horizon Books began to publish fiction for the British/Irish market a while ago. We started the project with great enthusiasm after years of publishing experiences. Our company, the artistic society Sodobnost International, is based in Slovenia and publishes one of the four oldest European literary monthlies, Sodobnost (Contemporary Review), founded in 1933, as well as high-quality award-winning books for children, YA and adults.

For quite some time we have been cooperating with a number of publishers from all corners of the world. We know where to find good books. We promise to enrich your library with unique voices and excellently translated works for readers of all ages.

Our books come from all corners of imagination. We started the Horizon imprint  with a number of Slovenian authors and a Lithuanian one, all widely read and highly appreciated in many parts fo the world.

We express sincere thanks to Istros Books for all their help. We share their belief that good literature rises above national interests and speaks to us with a common voice of human experience.
